Job Description

**This is a part time, temporary position working no more than 19 hours per week. This position is not benefits eligible. Final salary will be determined based on the applicant's qualifications and experience.**

Job Profile Summary

The Research Technician I, under general supervision will perform entry level, semi-skilled, and technical support research work involving performance of routine tasks. Specifically, this position will involve extensive travels for fieldwork and working on the road and/or by the roadside, as needed, i.e., over 75% of the total work effort will be travels and fieldwork on the road. However, continued employment in this position is contingent upon funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Responsibilities

  • Fieldwork (on the road and/or by the roadside) and data collection, as assigned (51%)

  • Equipment installation on the road, site maintenance, and un-installations, as assigned (34%)

  • Laboratory and office work, as needed (5%)

  • Assist senior researchers, as needed (5%)

  • Perform other duties, as assigned (5%)

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education/experience.

  • Two years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Ability and flexibility to routinely travel for fieldwork.

  • Ability and flexibility to work beyond normal business hours, weekends, and/or nights, as needed

  • Conversant with basic Microsoft Office software package.

  • Ability to lift moderately heavy objects and/or exert heavy force.

Other Key Requirements

  • Must have a clean-valid USA Drivers’ license.

  • Ability and flexibility to routinely travel for fieldwork.

  • Ability to tow a trailer will be an added advantage
