Background

The role is about identifying and developing scientifically novel decentralised and sustainable technological solutions that can be part of the future decentralised internet. The key concept of this innovative project is to embed the key humanity principles in the co-creation of the Next Generation internet technologies. We build on the existing European standards such as eIDAS 2.0, NIS and Cyber Resilience Act, by providing the building blocks that are interoperable with existing decentralised technologies.

Responsibilities

The postholder will be expected to develop new research calls in the area of decentralised internet. They will have good technical and communication skills to co-create design ideas that can be distilled through to potential EU companies that can then develop the necessary technology stack. The postholder will be expected to attend all project meetings and also mentor funded projects by sharing knowledge in the area of decentralised internet. The potholder will be expected to write deliverable reports and also attend all project meetings at partner sites in Europe.

Person Specification

The candidate is expected to have good knowledge in the areas of digital identity, data privacy, data governance, data market place and also a basic understanding around economics and hardware and software sustainability. The candidate should be able to articulate any new technical ideas into commercial propositions and mentor projects that are selected by the consortium through open competition. The candidate is expected to have good verbal communication, interpersonal and project management skills to manage this large and complex project.
