  • Level 6, full-time appointment on a 2-year fixed term basis.
  • Base salary range: $87,460 – $92,430 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the team

Part of the School of Dentistry’s vision is to be recognised internationally as a contemporary, progressive, innovative and vibrant centre of excellence in dentistry and its mission is to achieve excellence in dental education, research and oral health care to the benefit of the local community and the advancement of dentistry globally. The School supports 25 academic staff in various disciplines, ~50 visiting clinical academic staff, a student load of ~255 EFTSLs for graduate and postgraduate coursework and higher degree research, with an annual budget of ~$5m. The Oral Health Centre of Western Australia (OHCWA) is a centre within The University of Western Australia and is the clinical service division of the School of Dentistry. OHCWA is the primary focus for oral health education, research and specialist care delivery in Western Australia. With an annual budget of ~$17m, it employs nearly 200 staff, treats over 15,000 patients a year and delivers a range of clinical and technical training programs.

About the opportunity

As the appointee you will, under minimal direction, provide high level executive and administrative support to the Head of School of Dentistry and Director of the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia. The appointee will take a lead role in the administration and maintenance of office procedures to ensure the efficient operation of the office.

About you

To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant qualification and/or substantial relevant administrative experience at an appropriate level.
  • Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet and email.
  • Highly developed verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively as part of a team.
  • Experience working in a University or similar large complex organisation preferred but not essential.
