We are starting a new project into suicidality at the University Hospital of Psychiatri Zurich, UZH, along with the Department of Linguistics and the Data Science Institute at Columbia University, New York, USA. For coordination across groups and sites, we are searching for a part-time scientific coordinator. We recruit and study vulnerable participants and in- patients about to be discharged from acute psychiatric care with the aim to monitor suicidal thoughts and ideation, as well as to develop effective treatment.
Your responsibilities
The scientific project coordinator will be responsible for the operational implementation, coordination and administration of the project. Together with the four principal investigators at UZH, PUK and Columbia, she/he will facilitate the planning and coordination of the project, including:
  • following, monitoring and documenting progress of work packages
  • supporting communication and information sharing between groups, collaborators
  • coordinating administrative and operation al processes
  • supporting the compilation and write u pof project reports
  • planning and organizing scientific events, meetings, workshops.

Your profile
  • Master or at least bachelor in the social or medical sciences, favourably in a project-related subject, e.g. psychology, psychiatry, neuroscience, (computer) linguistics
  • Previous experience in the coordination of scientific programs at a university or comparable research institution
  • Knowledge of the academic environment and its practices
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Fluent use of English and German

What we offer
This part-time (20-30 %) position is limited to the duration of the project (4 years) starting in September 2022 or upon agreement.
