The research group Diabetes under guidance of Prof. Marc Donath offers a Research Laboratory Technician position in the context of endocrinology/metabolism/diabetes. This position will be based in the Department of Biomedicine (https://biomedizin.unibas.ch ) at the University of Basel/University Hospital Basel, Switzerland.

The Diabetes group studies the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes and in particular how components of the immune system interact with endocrine pathways to manage energy distribution and tissue metabolism. We focus on hormones secreted by pancreatic islet cells, tissue macrophages and the pathological/physiological role of the macrophage-derived cytokine Interleukin-1 beta.
