The Institute of Molecular and Clinical Ophthalmology Basel (IOB) is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate.

In the role of Protein Engineering / Synthetic Biology Research Associate, you will bring your expertise in protein design and expression, to participate in developing and testing new therapies to restore vision.

A successful candidate will use first principles to predict/understand/control the impact of cell culture process parameters on membrane-bound recombinant protein function utilizing small-scale bioreactor models, and conduct mammalian cell tissue culture maintenance and DNA transfection / transduction. Cell cultures will be maintained and used for protein expression testing and production of designed proteins from recombinant DNA based vectors and other transduction systems.
