The role 

We search for a researcher to work in an on-going project analysing protein-protein interactions by means of proximity biotinylation approaches. Proven experience in this type of approaches is strictly required. 

About the team 

The group aims to dissect how the activities of the DYRK family of protein kinases are linked to human pathology. We are particularly interested on the DYRK-associated activities that impact on the regulation of gene expression programs either directly through their recruitment to chromatin or indirectly through modulation of specific signaling pathways.

Professional experience 

Must Have

  • You have proven experience with mammalian cell culture, protein-protein interaction assays, phosphorylation studies, proximity biotinylation experiments
  • You read scientific literature
  • You are fluent in English

Education and training

  • You hold a MSc in aspects related with molecular biology or biomedical research

Languages

  • You are proficient in English

Technical skills

  • Protein analysis: Western blot, immunoprecipitation, in vitro kinase assays
  • DNA manipulation: cloning, sequencing
  • Mammalian cell culture: transient and stable transfections
  • In cellulo proximity-biotinylation experiments

Competences 

  • Highly developed organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good communication skills

The Offer – Working Conditions

  • Contract duration: 9-months
  • Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales
  • Target start date: 01/02/2023

    Selection Process 

    Pre-selection: The pre-selection process will be based on qualifications and expertise reflected on the candidates CVS. It will be merit-based.
