Offer Description

Position of a technician in the SONATA BIS project entitled " Structure-function studies of mitochondrial proteins from the FASTK family" financed by the National Science Centre, Poland, is open for application. The project aims to investigate the role of FASTKD proteins in the mitochondrial RNA metabolism. Project leader: dr Katarzyna Bandyra.

We are looking for motivated candidates:
- with at least master degree in biology, chemistry or related sciences
- good spoken and written English (international environment)
- good knowledge and experience with basic molecular biology techniques and microbiology (cloning, electrophoresis, western blot, growth of bacterial cells etc.)
- experience with manipulation of human cell culture (the project includes investigation of protein-protein and protein-RNA interactions in human mitochondria)
- experience with protein purification or structural biology would be an advantage
- ability to work in the team
- work commitment, very good organisation and time management skills

Main duties:
- preparation of samples and buffers according to standard protocols
- support in basic laboratory procedures (cloning, protein expression and purification, enzymatic analysis, preparation of competent bacteria, cell culture maintenance, operation and maintenance of robotic devices etc.)
- reagents inventory and ordering
- keeping the laboratory and project documentation in order

We offer:

a temporary contract with the University of Warsaw (full time position/employment contract from 1/06/2026 for the period of 60 months). We are young, dynamically developing team specialising in structural studies of proteins and protein-RNA complexes.
