Job Description

The NUS Business School’s Undergraduate Studies Office is seeking for an experienced hire to be part of the Curriculum Cluster. He/She will work closely with the Assistant Dean and Director of the Undergraduate Programmes and be largely responsible for the following components:

 

A. Management of Double-Degree Programme (DDP) and Second Major Programme
I. Programme Administration and Student Support
1. Work with BBA Admissions Team on mid-stream applications
2. Help students understand their programme requirements and check their study roadmap
3. Advise students and liaise with RO and partner faculties on students' admissions into / withdrawal from / change of DDPs
4. Liaise with partner faculties to check students' graduation eligibility
5. Work with Exam Office and RO on exam processing
6. Work with RO on commencement preparation


II. Curriculum
1. Liaise with RO and partner faculties on programme and policy matters, including assessing impact of policy or curriculum changes, on new and existing programmes
2. Prepare papers and proposals
3. Advise on module pre-allocation
4. Manage appeals and enquiries for DDP students on module registration
5. Conduct Module Classification Exercise and update classification of every module read by BIZ DDP students
6. Coordinate the registration and completion of Integrated Honours Dissertation, including collating final marks/grades from BIZ and partner faculties and entering them into the system
7. Run exam processing DDP students for special cases (e.g. credits transfer from SEP and summer schools, transfer of home faculty)


III. Communications & Outreach
1. Ensure information on websites, brochures and NUS Bulletin is current and accurate
2. Handle programme enquiries
3. Organize DDP talks and information sessions

 

B. Projection and Forecasting of Courses/Modules and Module Registration
1. Projection or forecasting of courses/modules to be offered for subsequent Academic Year
2. Liaise with the Departments on the modules to be offered, the number of classes or sections per module and the quota for each module to be offered
3. Have the course description and outline of all the modules mounted on the web
4. Perform pre-Module Registration administration such as liaising with Departments for pre-requisite checks, liaising with SEP Unit and Faculties/Schools for servicing quota, liaising with ITU, BIZCareers, SCALE, LPP, USP, iLead, NOC, Tembusu College and Yale-NUS to prepare for module pre-allocation exercise, liaising with Manager for DDP on module preferences for DDP students and liaising with Exams cluster to ensure modules offered are scheduled for exams accordingly etc.
5. Configure the system for Module Registration exercise, such as module mounting, quota setting, setting pre-requisites for modules, module course entry etc.
6. Work with IT Unit on successful module pre-allocation for BIZ students to pre-allocate BIZ core modules to students
7. Maintain tutorial quota for the modules to ensure all students who need tutorial classes are registered for tutorial classes
8. Handle student enquiries on matters relating to Module Registration
9. Work with team members to handle appeals for modules from students
10. Liaise with Registrar Office to ensure all active students have registered modules for the semester
11. Inform students on how to manage Module Registration properly
12. Work with student assistants/helpers to ensure walk-in and phone requests and queries are entertained and accurate and correct information is disseminated
13. Handle student queries on module registration and other matters on curriculum, either in person, over the phone or emails


Qualifications

• At least three years of related work experience as described above
• A good university degree
• Good understanding of the degree curriculum structure
• Strong administrative skillset
• Systematic and organized
• IT-savvy and deft with using different system platforms
• Comfortable to crunch volumes of data and be hands-on in handling mundane data entries
• Able to work independently and well under pressure
• Manage mutiple and competing tasks and deadlines well, with a high degree of accuracy and detail
• Proactive and able to forestall possible issues and resolve them
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

 

(Appointment job grade will commensurate with the selected candidate's experience)
