The University's new Student Management System (SMS) manages the complete student lifecycle from attracting new students, through all day-to-day student activities, and on to graduation. This system will support population of more than 33,000 students.
This role reports to the Deputy Director, SMS and will provide operational support for the implementation of the university’s new SMS. This incumbent will interface between business teams, IT teams and system vendors to support SMS implementation, which include the execution of SMS User Acceptance Test (UAT), tracking of UAT status, responding to system issues or requests in a timely manner.
This role contributes to the technology enablement for student administration and academic services and will enhance student experience.
Responsibilities
Provide system support for SMS modules.
Engage business teams to gather business requirement for system or technology.
Perform system UAT for new system modules.
Monitor system implementation and UAT status.
Guide and train business users in use of technology and system.
Drive and oversee the testing of new functionality in upgrading / new enhancement of SMS.
Provide operational support, including handling system related requests for SMS post go-live.
Data collation for operational issues and partner with system vendor and IT to resolve issues.
Prepare reports with analysis and/or dashboards for reporting of system status and support requests.
Document standard operating procedures for systems and business processes.
Maintenance of user administration, support in troubleshooting technical and functional issues in the different systems.
Generate system and operation reports which meet users’ requirement on the daily, weekly, monthly reports for the purpose of management reporting, data analysis and business decisions.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in any related field from a recognised University.
Minimum 6 years of working experiences, preferably in tertiary education sector.
Working knowledge in student management system preferred.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated competencies in system and process documentation.
Self-driven, highly motivated and able to work well both individually and in a team, while under pressure.
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and BI tools such as Tableau/Qliksense/Power BI would be advantageous.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, Power Query and PowerPoint.
