We are looking for an experienced Nursery Operations Manager who is keen to lead Scion's nursery operations towards developing a world class facility. This role will work closely with our third-party stakeholders and scientists to deliver high quality outcomes, enhance the growth of the nursery and our reputation as a centre of excellence. 

Key accountabilities:

  • Lead the nursery operational team to ensure the production of high-quality deliverables in achievement of goals and objectives within Scion's overall strategy. Support projects by ensuring there is well established, and managed budgeting and forecasting.
  • Support research and development in crop and trial environments to enable the collection of accurate and robust scientific data that contributes to the growing impact of Scion's science.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, plan, and implement programmes of work to ensure all goals and objectives align to the strategic intent and are delivered to a high-quality standard 

To be successful in this role, your skills and experience will include:

  • Post-graduate degree / or Degree in Horticulture/ Agriculture/ Forestry (or equivalent) with at least 10+ years nursery management experience.
  • Experience in project & risk management, diagnostic & analytical interpretation and research methodology is highly desirable.
  • Financial awareness - highly competent in preparing, annual budgets and other financial documentation
  • Management and Business Acumen with an ability oversee a business team including capability planning, training and development
