Salary range:  $80,000 to $110,000

What you will be doing | Ngā whāinga matua

You will utilise your excellent communication skills to successfully work with various teams and experts to maintain and improve the quality of software that is developed within our organisation, You must have a curious mind and have the proven ability to get results.

You will promote a culture of test driven development across our institute with a core focus on testing, developing systems and scripts for a particular important project.  You will assist our Technical Services team with testing system changes, updates/patching and software packages and changes.  You will be testing in both Agile and conventional/SDLC software development and working in a DevOps approach for deployment to improve the quality of our developed systems.

What you will bring | Ngā tino pūkenga me ngā wheako

  • Some certification or qualification in software testing is important, e.g. International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB)
  • Experience with developing automated software functional tests in one or more tools or frameworks (such as Selenium or Katalon) is important
  • Experience with Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins, or GitHub Actions would be desirable
  • Experience with software for managing the overall testing process such as Katalon would be desirable
  • Understanding of horticultural industry would be desirable
  • A science background would be desirable
