Applicant is expected to conduct excellent research and education in the field of chromosome biology, with focus on chromosome structure and the SMC protein complexes. More specifically, to investigate the role of the DNA loop-extruder Smc5/6 in the three-dimensional organization of chromosomes. The postdoctoral position is available in the recently established Laboratory of DNA Topology and Genome Maintenance, headed by Kristian Jeppsson, at the Institute for Quantitative Biosciences (IQB), the University of Tokyo. The Jeppsson lab primarily conducts research at the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden, within the UTokyo-KI LINK program. Therefore, the successful postdoc candidate will be based at the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden, but have the benefit of experiencing the research environment at both leading research institutions.
The successful postdoc candidate will perform experiments in Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells, using techniques such as Micro-C and calibrated ChIP-seq.

Annual salary:4 million yen - 6 million yen
Wages description:Between 400,000 and 500,000 JPY per month. Basic salary will be decided taking your academic background, professional background, etc. into account.
