Post Summary

The University Spokesperson provides strategic vision and leadership to develop and implement a robust media relations strategy for the university. By further developing the awareness and reputation of Trinity College Dublin globally, their work contributes to the strengthening of Trinity’s standing as a university of global importance.

The post-holder is the university’s senior spokesperson to the media. They lead Trinity’s media engagement - managing its relationships with media and leading on the communication of corporate news and strategic developments, in consultation with relevant key senior management and the Director of Public Affairs and Communications. They manage issues, advise on crisis responses and monitor media coverage to protect Trinity’s reputation. They also help safeguard Trinity’s external reputation by ensuring key Trinity staff are properly supported in communicating with media, whether preparing for interviews, responding to crises, or drafting written responses. The Spokesperson is the first point of contact for media and develops and nurtures relationships with key media on behalf of the university.

Hours of Post: 35 hours per week


Salary:

This appointment will be made on the Administrative 1 (Points 1-3), Salary Scale (€63,138 - €81,676 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
