The Department of Political Science, School of Social Sciences and Philosophy is seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow in International Relations, to commence on 1st August 2023.
The Department of Political Science wishes to make a Teaching Fellow appointment with a special focus on contributing to the development of our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in international relations and international conflict. This includes further developing the quality of our research-led undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong experience in teaching and have experience in teaching as teaching assistant or lead instructor for a variety of modules. The successful candidate should be able to teach undergraduate and masters-level dissertation topics in international relations, as well as to contribute flexibly across the range of the Department’s teaching needs. The successful candidate will have an active research agenda in international relations as well as an approach to research that complements the Department of Political Science’s existing strengths in comparative and institutional analysis. An ability to teach modules in research design at both undergraduate and postgraduate/MSc level is highly desirable.
The normal teaching load for a Teaching Fellow in the department would be six to eight semester-length modules per year.
Appointment will be made on a specific purpose contract with the expected duration of 2 years.
