The Purpose of the Role

This position is available for a suitably qualified and experienced person to work as a Business System Analyst in the Application Design and Development Team.  This is a role which requires deep technical expertise . The post holder will play a key role through having expert knowledge of SITS configuration, functionality and associated business processes.  The post holder will provide analysis service, requirements gathering, technical design and documentation, regression testing, and post go live support.  They will also provide for ongoing liaison and support of business users through solution evaluation and configuration, problem solving, and post go-live hyper care. The post holder will enable knowledge transfer to members of the Application Design and Development team.

Context

The SITS student administration system is an enterprise-wide system which covers areas such as course management, student admissions, registration, student management, online module enrolment, student finance, progression of records, the determination of examination results, the issuance of course transcripts, research management, alumni management and graduation.

The SITS functionality is both client-based, and portal-based and the role requires a good appreciation of the operational administration and the operational cross dependencies within the system.    The post holder will be required to have a good understanding of the SITS student administration system and will be able to associate its functionality with business processes and user experience.

Integrations are a key component of the SITS implementation.  The successful candidates will be required to obtain a good working knowledge of integrations so that they can be understood against the backdrop of current SITS related processes, new process requirements and new / changed configurations.

The successful candidate will have accountability to the Application Design and Development Manager.   They will be required to lead out on and support the delivery of new and enhanced SITS Functionality. They will also be required to provide technical documentation for all technical deliverables, including SITS updates, upgrades and related systems changes.  Finally, they will also be required to understand the interdependencies of key SITS data integrations, reporting solutions and may also be required to perform bulk data queries and updates from time to time.

They will work closely with colleagues across IT Services, Academic Registry, Schools and other stakeholders.

Post status: Specific Purpose Contract

Hours of Post: 35 hours per week

Salary: This appointment will be made on the Administrative 1 (Points 1-3), Salary Scale ( €65,367 - €84,560 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales. (tcd.ie)

2.       A deep understanding of the SITS Business Systems Analyst role as described under ‘knowledge and experience’ above is essential.  The applicant should give three examples of their involvement and application of this understanding.  At least one example should include delivery of application configuration and support in a team environment.

3.       Illustrate, through past example, their ability to work on their own initiative and resolve problems.
