Offer Description
Applications are invited for a temporary part time post of a Research Culture Network Coordinator within UDC School of Veterinary Medicine.
A positive research culture is a priority for University College Dublin (UCD). Research Culture and Environment is one of four themes in UCD's Strategy for Research, Innovation and Impact, `Shaping the Future'. Since 2021, UCD has been proactively engaged in a Research Culture Initiative taking clear and ambitious steps towards the advancement of a supportive culture for the research community. UCD has spearheaded this transformation effort at a national level.
As part of a new programme of work supported by an Institutional Research Culture award from Wellcome, Research Culture Networking, Empowerment, Engagement, and Wellbeing (RENEEW) the Research Culture Initiative will establish a Research Culture Network, involving 16 HEIs/RPOs across Ireland. To manage the Network, we are recruiting a Research Culture Network Coordinator. We recognise that research culture depends not only on institutional factors but also the wider research ecosystem. The Network will be co-led by UCD and Queen's University Belfast, fostering an all-Island approach.
The Research Culture Network Coordinator will work with the existing RC Project Manager to organise all network activities. Network meetings, involving designated Research Culture teams from participating organisations, will be organised four times a year, alternating between hybrid and in-person. These will facilitate sharing best practice and current developments in areas that impact Research Culture (open research, research assessment, research integrity, RURM, EDI, recognition of team contributions, wellbeing). The Network will provide information, resources and tools for baseline assessment and benchmarking, allowing members to adopt or adapt the survey methodology and materials developed by UCD to their individual requirements. It will also allow for the sharing of the experience of different interventions, and provide toolkits and case studies. The Network will host two Annual Conferences, one organised by UCD and one by QUB. This action will extend the conversation to include other stakeholders including policy makers, funders, and publishers.
Salary: €46,111 at 05FTE pro rata €23,055
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Closing date: 17:00hrs (local Irish time) on 22nd March 2024.
Applications must be submitted by the closing date and time specified. Any applications which are still in progress at the closing time of 17:00hrs (Local Irish Time) on the specified closing date will be cancelled automatically by the system. UCD are unable to accept late applications.
UCD do not require assistance from Recruitment Agencies. Any CV's submitted by Recruitment Agencies will be returned.
