Exciting new Job Opportunity in the new €41.3 million research centre which will be the home of research, innovation, and policy development across the interlinked challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and water degradation on the islands of Ireland and Britain.

The new Co-Centre for Climate+ Biodiversity + Water hosted by the School of Natural Sciences, Trinity College Dublin is an international collaborative Co-Centre working across 14 academic partner institutions in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Great Britain.

The Co-Centre for Climate+ Biodiversity and Water, hosted by the School of Natural Sciences, is seeking to appoint a Business Development Manager focused on industry engagement, who will support the mission, vision, culture and strategic objectives of the Co-Centre, together with its implementation, scale-up and future development.

Co-Centre interaction with business and industry is pivotal in success defining and funding not only collaborative research projects but also ensuring our research can be successfully commercialized. Meeting the demands imposed by SFI and our partners, delivery on our strategy, requires a higher level of responsibility and experience in the area of industry and partner engagement. This significantly extends beyond business development and carries an emphasis on leadership and the design and execution of new business creation and focusses on working closely with academia across multiple institutions. This role includes development and management of the Centers business plan in support of the existing and emerging research strands within the Co-Centre.

The successful candidate must assume a higher level of leadership and responsibility with respect to ownership and delivery of the industry strategy ensuring cohesion through the team, shared goals and target definition for monitoring of performance.  This includes, acting as an advisor to the senior management team, Executive committee and the Centre Board on the strategy and tactical plan for New Business Creation for the Centre as a whole as well as for specific targeted thematic areas/programmes.

The Business Development Manager, based at Trinity's Co-Centre offices, will collaborate with partners, including the operations team at Queen’s University Belfast, and occasionally travel to Northern Ireland and Great Britain.

Post status: Specific Purpose

Hours of Post: 35 hours per week

Salary: This appointment will be made on the Administrative Officer 1 (1-6) Salary Scale (€65,367 - €103,503 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales. (tcd.ie)
