The Roles

Maynooth University seeks outstanding academics to join our staff as Professor of Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics in the Hamilton Institute. The persons appointed will have an excellent record in research, scholarship and publication, in teaching and educational innovation, and in academic leadership. They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching, research and profile of the university, and to provide ongoing leadership for the discipline.

Successful candidates who are appointed in research areas that align with those of the SFI I-Form Centre (www.i-form.ie) will be appointed, in addition to the professorial post, as a funded or principal investigator and thus can leverage significant extra research funding. Such an additional appointment will be made at the discretion of the I-Form executive committee subsequent to an offer being made.

Salary 

Professor A :                                               €134,286 – €169,770 p.a. (6 points)

Professor B :                                                 €97,259 – €130,000 p.a. (6 points)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.

The decision to appoint as Professor A or Professor B is made by the President based on the report of the Selection Panel and the experience and track record of the successful candidate.

To be appointed at Professor A level, the successful candidate will have an excellent record of published work of international quality and demonstrated leadership in their field, will be an excellent teacher and academic innovator, and will normally have experience and demonstrated capacity in administrative as well as academic leadership.
