The Purpose of the Role 

The purpose of this role is to support the smooth running of the College Health Service, providing secretarial and clerical and administrative support to clinical staff and other members of the College Health Service team in line with Service procedures, policies and requirements of the College Health Service, with particular reference to the online management of patient appointments, test results, reception desk duties and basic IT management.

Context  

The position is a dynamic one that requires excellent organisational and communications skills, ICT skills, such as proficient use of MS Office programmes, and interpersonal skills.

The ideal candidate should be committed to working on their own initiative and also contribute successfully in a team environment, with problem solving abilities, be comfortable with multi-tasking, have a flexible attitude to changing work practices and a welcoming and embracing attitude to change.

Computer data entry, updating and maintaining patient addresses and contact details where necessary. Processing and recording information in accordance with Practice procedures.

Providing clerical assistance to Practice staff. Have ability to communicate effectively with students and staff to ensure a positive experience for all patients.

Working well in a team both within the Department and across the wider College Community, and to foster good working relationships with departments.

Post Summary: Executive Officer

Post status: Permanent

Hours of Post: 35 hours per week

Salary: This appointment will be made on the Executive Officer Merged Salary Scale (€30,252 - €48,082 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales. (tcd.ie)
