We are seeking an excellent academic to join our staff as an Assistant Lecturer in Law from 1st September 2024 to 30 June 2025 on a full-time basis. The person appointed will have a proven record of teaching, research, and publication, appropriate to career stage. The successful applicant will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the School, and to undertake teaching duties on the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The appointee will also be expected to build a strong research profile, that supports the University’s research strategy including affiliating to the Research Institutes, where appropriate and working with colleagues on national and international research. The appointee will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance and generate publications of international standard.

Applications are welcome from those with research and teaching expertise in all areas of law. Areas of law in which we have specific teaching needs or in which we wish to deepen our current strengths for the duration of this contract include but are not limited to: Alternative Dispute Resolution; Business/Company Law; Civil Procedure/drafting of legal documents; French Law, German Law or Spanish Law; Immigration and Refugee Law; International Criminal Law; the Irish language and the Law; the Law of Torts; Legal Writing; Mooting/Legal Advocacy; and Tax Law (though candidates with other areas of expertise in law are also welcome to apply).

Salary:

Assistant Lecturer (2023):           €38,659 – €67,002 p.a. pro-rata (14 points)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
