Our research
The Sørensen group at BRIC is a well-established international research team with thematic focus in genome maintenance, cell proliferation and cancer.
Your job
The staff scientist’s responsibilities will be to support users in quantitative advanced microscopy approaches. The staff scientist will also support implementation and execution of Crispr/Cas9 genome engineering approaches to identify and delineate the molecular function of genes related to therapeutic DNA damage response and cancer development. You will be expected to support the development of genome-wide lentiviral based screens. You will be expected to support the development of engineered cell based systems to study gene function.
You will be expected to contribute to and support the ongoing research projects in the group on an ad hoc basis when needed; disseminate your expertise to new lab members and support the lab management.
Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic staff scientist with the following competencies and experience:
Essential experience and skills
- You have a PhD in Life sciences or related
- You have documented experience in advanced microscopy, genome editing, lentiviral based transfections, cell based screening, and FACS
- Experience in quantitative light microscopy approaches and image analysis.
- You have an active interest in advanced microscopy, functional genetic screening, DNA damage response and cancer.
- You have proven an ability to envision, plan and execute a research project.
- Good English skills, written and spoken

Terms of salary and employment
The employment as staff scientist (AC-TAP) is a full time and fixed-term position for 3 years. Starting date is February 1, 2023. Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The monthly salary will be based on the number of years of work experience (seniority) with the possibility to negotiate a salary supplement based on prior experiences and qualifications. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.
