The Automation and Control group at DTU Electrical Engineering are seeking a talented and committed engineer for solving complex engineering projects. The current project aims to design and build a novel small-scale cogeneration unit to produce renewable heat and electricity from biomass. The result of the project will help make energy production more sustainable and more efficient.
The Automation and Control group performs research and teaching in automation technology, control theory and robotics at DTU. The group has core competences in feedback and Control, Signal processing and integration as well as Systems Engineering with applications in a broad range of fields. The group has about 35 affiliated researchers and other employees.
As an engineer, you will participate in the project’s execution both in the technical and administrative tasks and coordinating activities, maintaining project documentation such as reports, presentations, and publications. It would be best if you were good at communication and able to solve complex technical task.
The tasks range widely, and you should be ready to give a hand in the more practical and complex tasks independently
Our expectations of you
- You have a background with an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering or similar and optionally a PhD degree
- Experience within dynamic system modelling and control, predictive process quality control, fault diagnostics and failure prognostics
- Data scientist with proven mathematical, statistical and machine learning, and programming skills
- Analytical skills working with sensory and operational data sets - signal processing, and handling of large data sets
- Knowledge of computer-controlled systems (analysis and design)
- Knowledge of combined heat and power generation
- Experience within energy demand modelling and prediction
- Knowledge and ability to work cross-disciplinary, e.g. across other sections within DTU, industrial collaborations, and international partnership

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
