We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral fellow to work on the exciting project Climate Constitutionalism: Theory, Institutions and Challenges funded by Aarhus University Research Foundation. The project runs for 36 months, is led by Professor Ole W. Pedersen, the Principal Investigator, and involves conducting research into the relationship between constitutional norms and climate change.
During the project, you will provide assistance to the Principal Investigator and undertake independent research into the constitutional challenges posed by climate change, including in relation to theoretical and conceptual understandings of constitutionalism, institutional developments and adjudication. You will also provide assistance in organising workshops and advisory board meetings.
The post is for three years and represents a unique opportunity to acquire valuable research experience, to contribute to the development of an emerging field and to disseminate findings in form of publications and research briefings. The project is expected to start on 1 June 2023 or at a date agreed with the successful candidate.
Employment as a Postdoctoral fellow requires a PhD degree in law or a related field.
The ideal candidate holds the following qualifications:
- Prior knowledge of and an interest in constitutional law, climate change and environmental law.
- Ambition to develop high-impact and original publications.
- Ability to integrate knowledge from across diverse areas of law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- A track record of research publications appropriate to career stage.
- A willingness to teach at bachelor´s and master´s levels in related subject
The successfull candidate is expected to be present in Aarhus.

The appointment is made in accordance with the
