Academic Staff Member - Assistant Professor for the Department of Marketing and Trade

Research field: consumer behaviour and sustainability

We are a modern university, teaching and researching agriculture, forestry, economic and technical disciplines in regional and international contexts. Since 2018, we have been the holder of the HR Excellence in Research Award for improving employee care, awarded to us as the first Czech university by the European Commission.

The Department of Marketing and Business provides teaching of subjects in the field of marketing, business and tourism at almost all units of Mendel University in Brno. It is significantly involved in research activities in several directions. The Department's staff is involved in grant projects, and to date, several important projects have been implemented by the staff of the GACR and TAČR (the Czech Grant Agencies).

At the Department of Marketing and Trade there are teams of specialists working on current topics in the fields of marketing, trade and tourism, in which they develop scientific research and educational activities. We specialize in consumer behavior, consumer behavior observation using modern neuromarketing tools, business logistics and business operations, and in the field of tourism, destination development opportunities and their perceptual capacity, customer satisfaction and loyalty.

What will be your job role?

• focusing on scientific projects in the field of consumer behaviour and sustainability
• preparing and conducting lectures focused on marketing
• preparation and coordination of grant applications and projects, including international ones
• supervising and opposing final theses
• coordination and management of scientific and research tasks
• communicating the results of its scientific and research activities to the professional community through publications, particularly in professional and scientific journals
• active participation in conferences and seminars

What are our requirements?

• higher education at Ph.D. level in management and economics
• proven publication record in journals indexed in the Scopus and WoS databases
• experience of independent creative practical activity
• ability to lecture, lead seminars and engage audiences
• independence and responsibility, excellent organisational and communication skills
• ability to publish and teach in Czech and English (both languages)
• ability to work in a team and independently
• practice in working with data, its analysis and processing (e.g. data from questionnaires)
• experience in publishing and academic writing
