Assistant Professor

We are looking for a colleague at the Department of Theatre Studies at the Faculty of Arts MU for the position of assistant professor with a focus on the history of world (or European) theatre.

MAIN JOB CONTENT

Education

  • Participation in conducting lectures and seminars in the Bachelor and Master degree programme of Theatre Studies, especially in the course Theatre in the History of European Culture I + II. 
  • Supervising, consulting or reviewing bachelor's and master's theses.

Research

  • Participation in grant projects, own research activities.
  • Professional publishing and presenting research results at conferences.

Other

  • Standard administrative tasks in managing own courses, using e-learning and communicating with students via the MUNI IS System.

WE REQUEST

  • Completion of a doctoral degree and a Ph.D. in theatre studies or a related field a prerequisite.
  • Candidate has completed an international internship and has experience in presenting at international conferences.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Czech language in both written and verbal form a prerequisite.
  • Standard computer skills (MS Office, MS, Teams, Zoom, etc.). 
  • Ability to work independently in a professional and scientific capacity, including publishing.
  • High level of knowledge of at least one of the following languages: English, German - a prerequisite.
