NAIT Materials Engineering Technology is a 2-year program delivered over 4 semesters of 15 weeks each. Through laboratory work and lectures, students learn about the properties and behaviour of engineering materials.

We are looking for an energetic individual with effective team skills and commitment to student motivation and achievement.  A successful candidate will possess well developed communication, interpersonal and organizational skills as well as be committed to student motivation and achievement.  Empathy for students needs and strong desire to see them succeed will be critical. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present classes in both classroom and lab settings

  • Organize and supervise practical assignments

  • Conduct student evaluation and maintain progress records

  • Seek ongoing feedback from students on instructional effectiveness and relevance

  • Participate in curriculum review and program development

  • Maintain contacts with related industry


  • Degree in Metallurgical/Materials/Chemistry Science or Metallurgical/Materials Engineering with considerable related industrial experience, or a Diploma in Materials Engineering Technology plus extensive related industry experience

  • Eligibility for CGSB Level 2 certifications in MT/ PT (minimum) and UT/RT is an asset

  • Prior post-secondary teaching experience is an asset

  • Equivalencies may be considered

Remuneration:  Commensurate with education and experience.
