Offer Description

Opportunity for a post-doctoral researcher in the field of experimental Condensed Matter Physics to develop a research project on geometrically frustrated magnetic materials under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rafael Sá de Freitas, at the University of Sâo Paulo's Physics Institute (IF-USP) in Brazil. The selected candidate will have a scholarship linked to the Thematic Project “Research on quantum materials involving intense magnetic fields and low temperatures”.

The candidate must have or be about to complete a doctorate in the areas of Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science, with experience in at least two of the following topics:

- Magnetic materials;

- Measurements at low temperatures;

- Use of synchrotron light for advanced structural/compositional analysis;

- Neutron scattering and muon spin spectroscopy;

- Synthesis of polycrystalline and/or single crystal oxides.

The position is open to Brazilians and foreigners. The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral Scholarship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of R$ 9,047.40 per month and a Technical Reserve equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the scholarship.
