Offer Description
We are searching for a PhD researcher with a background on harmonic modelling of power systems and an affinity for developing mathematical optimisation models in the course of the research project “Innovative Solutions for High Voltage Underground Networks”. In particular, the successful candidate is expected to develop a methodology to quantify the underground cable hosting capacity for high voltage transmission grids from the perspective of reactive power and harmonic resonances/stability in grid. To that end, harmonic component and network simulation techniques will be combined/complemented with mathematical optimisation and statistical analysis methods and applied to realistic power networks. The position is situated in the recently established HVDC and underground cable competence centre.
