Business Partner

Want to be the bridge between VUB's central services and  professors?

The Business Partner team is looking for a new colleague who finds it fun and exciting  to work on operational support between central services such as Finance and HR and the faculties.

Do you like to take initiative and working independently ? Do you like to persuade and are you comfortable with change? 

Some of your general tasks:

• Provide operational support to your professors, mainly in the areas of finance and HR. This can range from helping professors in their leadership role to build better performing teams, to helping them in their role as researchers to better manage their budgets. In the first instance, you will act as a signpost to other colleagues with the necessary extertise. For more complex cases involving multiple disciplines (e.g. careers and finance), you are the SPOC who handles the case from A to Z.
• Liaise with your professors to understand their needs and advise them on, for example organisational development or human resource planning.
• In addition to quick wins (cases and small projects), you will also work hard to convince decision-makers of your proposals for sustainable and structural solutions. This makes you a key figure for your professors.

In this position you will report directly to the team coordinator Barbara Van Belle and work closely with 4 other BP colleagues, each responsible for their own faculty cluster.

For this position, Etterbeek will be your home base, with working from home (2/3 days per week) after your induction period.
