  • Full time, fixed term 12-month contract (parental leave cover)
  • $100,032 to $108,979 + 17% Superannuation

About the opportunity

As the Senior Project Officer, you will provide project advice and operational support to achieve the Research Portfolio’s objectives.

You will work with a range of staff and provide project management support to multiple work streams within a multi-faceted program of work within the DVC Research Portfolio. If you’re someone who enjoys working in a team of like-minded individuals on innovative improvement projects, this is the role for you!

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • work collaboratively with the General Manager, DVC Research Portfolio and other project managers and project officers
  • provide support and project management advice during the project lifecycle for Research Portfolio projects
  • working collaboratively with the Research Portfolio and preparing a bi-monthly newsletters
  • managing and assisting with monthly Town Halls
  • monitoring and co-ordinating our risk, audit, and WHS compliance reporting
  • co-ordinating and managing other ad hoc reports and requests from the General Manager and on behalf of the General Manager
  • supporting the implementation of the Strategic Initiatives
  • develop and implement project governance and reporting procedures to monitor and control progress
  • identify and analyse emerging risks and threats to the program implementation
  • work with key stakeholders on implementing new process improvements to maximise project efficiencies
  • develop and maintain effective and productive relationships with multiple project stakeholders
  • support the mapping of key project resources required to establish and commence projects
  • coordinate the management of contractual and business development matters for Research Portfolio projects

About you

  • must be work agile, flexible, adaptive as this role fits within a very dynamic environment
  • able to “switch gears” and run parallel tasks on multiple projects
  • able to understand and interpret data
  • tertiary degree and/or relevant experience in project management, business administration or finance
  • previous experience within either research, medical or similar field is highly desirable
  • experience managing a diverse group of reports and stakeholders on large or complex projects
  • previous experience in the higher education/tertiary sector or at a complex, multi-faceted organisation
  • knowledge in planning, analysis and communications with the ability to work towards strict deadlines
  • effective team player with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • experience in financial management of projects; managing budgets and controlling income and expenditure.
