  • Base Salary (HEO6) $95,860- $103,341 p.a. + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

The Faculty of Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Administration Officer to manage general administrative support including preparing documents, responding to complex queries, exploring matters, and sourcing solutions etc. for the work area. The incumbent will pursue opportunities for the Faculty to innovate and lead by example through proactively contributing to projects, process improvement and reinforcing the value of innovation to the Faculty and the University

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • manage general administrative services and operational support for the work area

  • support the team in devising and implementing agreed solutions and develop and the Faculty’s digital and automation services, forms, collaboration services

  • make suggestions for continuous improvement based on a deep understanding of Faculty and University needs and maximising current resources (including technology)

  • take a supervisory role in project management comprising of minor infrastructure projects, maintenance, accommodation and relocations works

  • manage the direction, coordination, implementation, execution control and completion of minor projects ensuring alignment with University and faculty strategy, commitments and goals

  • share technical knowledge and peer train colleagues in managing and replicating the systems established to support the Faculty projects.

About you

  • significant experience in navigating the University platforms in order to capture and share information

  • experience working with modern workplace technologies including but not limited to Office 365 and digital workflow tools, SharePoint O365, Procurement Systems, Marketing and Communications tools

  • the ability to acquire data and interrogate complex systems to determine key issues/elements of the data and summarise clearly

  • project management experience

  • the ability to understand client requirements and work with the client to progress projects, and when needed, explain and manage delays in projects

  • experience with SharePoint will be highly regarded.

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
