  • Level B, full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for 3 years
  • Base salary range: $105,043 - $124,301 p.a.  plus 17% superannuation

About the team

The Australian Centre for Geomechanics (ACG) is a multi-disciplinary joint venture and UWA Research Centre which provides professional education training and research services to the mining sector, in the disciplines of underground, open pit and environmental mining geomechanics. The overall aim of the Centre is to improve mine safety and productivity.

About the opportunity

Under the directions of the ACG mXrap Consortium Team Leader and the ACG Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with the mXrap project team towards the development of the mXrap software. You will provide technical support, training and application development for mXrap as well as occasional visits to sponsor sites. There are also opportunities to be involved with some of the other research projects at the ACG.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate :

  • Postgraduate degree in Engineering (Masters or PhD)
  • Extensive theoretical knowledge of mining rock mechanics and mine seismicity
  • Experience in mining geomechanics practice
  • Ability to develop applications within mXrap
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Capacity for high quality research through publications in the area of mining geomechanics is desirable
