The College is seeking Casual Academic Teachers in the following Engineering subject areas:

- Electrical Engineering
- Engineering Physics
- Fundamentals of Mechanics

Qualification Requirements    

As per TEQSA requirements, all Academic Teachers require either undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications in the area of specialisation they are looking to teach in.

We are looking for candidates who value experimentation and innovation in teaching and learning, and who can work effectively within a team.

The Successful candidates will need to be able to design, develop and deliver learning activities in accordance with the needs of The College students.

This includes:

  • Facilitation of discussion boards and other forms of student communication
  • Providing detailed and timely feedback to students
  • Student consultations as required
  • Evaluate the progress of students objectively through moderation and use of The College standards
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching/learning materials to course and unit outlines
  • Maintain quality standards in teaching/learning programs including being the first point of contact in managing student issues with content, extensions or questions
  • Participate in and contributing to review and continuous improvement of curriculum materials


Working with Children Check

As this position is expected to involve direct or unsupervised contact with children, and in accordance with legislative requirements, in order to commence working at The College, it is a requirement to obtain a “NSW Working with Children Check Clearance”. The screening involves checking that you are not a ‘disqualified person’ as per the meaning of the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012. No disqualified person will be retained in or appointed to work in child related employment within The College.

Remuneration: current casual rates are $139.97 per hour for all teaching duties and $64.91 per hour for non-teaching duties specified in The College Enterprise Agreement
