Library Services are seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Senior Library Technician Indigenous Metadata.

About the role
The Information Resources Team performs administrative and technical activities that provide the Western Sydney University community with timely access to high quality information resources which are essential for Western Sydney research and teaching activities and the preservation and dissemination of Western Sydney University research outputs.

The Senior Library Technician Indigenous Metadata provides guidance to Information Resources staff in researching metadata and discovery practices that align with the specific needs and sensitivities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander materials. In conjunction with the wider team, they will take a lead in the implementation and maintenance of these practices, ensuring respectful and accurate representation within our collections.

The Senior Library Technician Indigenous Metadata also works with metadata and associated authority and quality control of general library collection material and Western Sydney University research outputs.

Skills and Experiences
The successful candidate will show a strong commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in library or similar area practices, possess innovative service delivery skills, and have knowledge or capacity to learn library metadata practices with a high attention to detail with a strong emphasis on accuracy and consistency.

Applicants should be aware that this role will be based at Penrith campus, however as Western Sydney University is a multi-campus university travel to other campuses may be required when operational needs arise.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 5 $94,265 to $106,603 p.a. (comprising Salary of $79,655 to $90,081 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
