About the Team
The Whitlam Institute within Western Sydney University is a dynamic research and policy think tank, and a prime ministerial public museum. It commemorates and draws inspiration from the life and work of the Honourable Gough Whitlam AC QC and celebrates the contemporary relevance of his ideas. It pursues the causes he championed and is guided by the principles upon which Gough Whitlam's parliamentary career and years of service to the people of Australia were founded.

About the Role
The Whitlam Institute is seeking an enthusiastic Project Support Officer to work within our Public Affairs team. In this role, the successful candidate will be interested in youth advocacy and empowering young Australians via the Whitlam Institute's flagship What Matters? national writing competition. Celebrating its 20th year, the competition is open to school children across Australia. The role requires stakeholder management and dedicated project management experience to confidently steer the competition from launch to the awards ceremony. It also involves writing and content creation skills and an understanding of paid and organic social media strategies. This role also supports our communications channels and Institute events.

The Whitlam Institute Project Support Officer sits in the small, supportive, agile Public Affairs team, who in turn work collaboratively with staff in other teams across the Institute to deliver the varied activities we undertake.

This is a full-time, ongoing position based at Parramatta South Campus in the beautiful Female Orphan School building.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 6 $107,358 to $115,073 p.a. (comprising Salary of $90,719 to $97,238 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
