Overview
ECU’s School of Science with both the Centre for Marine Ecosystems Research and Conservation and Biodiversity Research Centre are seeking a genomics researcher to join a team to understand the genetic diversity and connectivity of temperate seagrasses along a latitudinal gradient using a genomics approach. This research will inform resilience building strategies in response to dredging and climate change pressures. The post-doctoral research fellow will work in a team with ECU and University of Western Australia staff to deliver this genomics analysis and develop and trial resilience building strategies.
Skills and Experience
Prospective candidates should have an Ph.D. degree in genomics with experience in bioinformatics, population genomics and scientific publishing with experience in marine plants desirable. The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, good interpersonal communication and presentation skills is important. SCUBA diving and boat handling skills will be an advantage.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full time, fixed term position attracts remuneration of $72,650 to $90,957 pa (ALEVA, step 1 to step 6) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
