  • Base Salary $79K - $89K (HEO5) + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

The Faculty of Science is currently seeking a Placement Officer to join a small team responsible for coordinating and managing the complete end to end process of clinical and non-clinical placements in compliance with University Policies and accreditation requirements within professional programs.

This role is part of the Faculty of Science Education Portfolio which facilitates projects and initiatives which align with the Faculty’s strategic priorities and University’s mission for educational excellence. This encompasses the delivery of all education-related activities such as education and student support, placements, curriculum development, educational design and quality and innovation with a focus on continuous improvement and stakeholder satisfaction.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • managing placements via the SONIA Student Placement Management system

  • student placement support

  • internal and external stakeholder engagement regarding placements

  • monitoring and  managing placement related compliance matters

  • placement reporting

  • addressing and resolving placement related issues

  • undertaking high level administration

  • organising Student Placement Agreements

About you

  • a certificate IV in business administration or equivalent with relevant experience in business administration

  • strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods

  • the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work

  • administrative experience in a tertiary organisation, working knowledge of academic institutions, structures and the higher education sector is preferable but not essential

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in handling a wide range of enquiries and providing excellent customer service.

  • Experience with or a working knowledge of student placement management databases or a relational database

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
