  • Base Salary $100,032 - $108,979 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

As the Partnerships and Events Manager, you will be responsible for connecting the Sydney Knowledge Hub with external support people, programs, and opportunities for its membership base and research entrepreneurs.

Working within a tight-knit team of three, reporting to the Director, Sydney Knowledge Hub, your key responsibilities will be to:

  • build networks, sponsorships, and manage stakeholders

  • promote research entrepreneurs’ achievements to the broader innovation ecosystem

  • create and lead a program of events for research entrepreneurs at the University of Sydney

  • work with university marketing and communications teams to promote the program and events

  • take ownership of the Sydney Knowledge Hub social channels to showcase upcoming events and achievements

  • develop opportunities for alumni to meet researcher entrepreneurs and nurture the broader commercialisation ecosystem at the University.

Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to work onsite full-time as this is a very collaborative position and team.

  • ability to foster an entrepreneurial culture and build partnerships between the research, business and government communities

  • prior experience in working within a startup or highly collaborative environment

  • excellent stakeholder management coupled with strong influencing and negotiation skills

  • proven experience working across social media platforms, running events and marketing engagements

  • ability to adjust and adapt to workloads sometimes under pressure, with competing priorities

  • experience working within the higher education sector or a large multifaceted organisation.

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. For a continuing position, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
