About the opportunity
The University Health Services is looking for a highly organised Medical Receptionist to join their team.
In this role, you will act as the 'face' of the UHS; making appointments with patients, dealing with enquiries, and doing everything possible to ensure a professional, friendly, and comfortable experience for patients.
Due to the nature of this role being a customer facing position, it is a requirement to be in the office full-time.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
work within a team of 4, reporting to the Practice Manager
provide exceptional general reception support, such as making appointments for patients
respond to enquiries in person, via email and over the telephone
data entry of patients' personal details and attendance records using Best Practice
general financial tasks such as invoicing, providing receipts and processing payments
liaison with medical, nursing and administrative staff to facilitate patient care.
About you
proven experience as a medical receptionist in general practice or equivalent
previous experience working within a tertiary institution is highly desirable
ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds
awareness of the importance of confidentiality in dealing with sensitive personal information
sound knowledge of the software system Best Practice is highly desirable
excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong computer knowledge.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
