Bring your passion for building a connected and valued alumni community at one of Australia’s youngest and most dynamic universities.

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations at Edith Cowan University (ECU) is responsible for building lifelong, mutually beneficial relationships between the University’s alumni, business, and the community, leading ECU’s fundraising agenda. The environment is exciting, varied, fast moving and meaningful. Our Alumni Relations team is responsible for maintaining the relationships of a growing community of over 175,000 alumni and former staff, all over the world, providing support and increasing engagement with the University.

It is an exciting time to join ECU as the University embarks on a transformational journey to create Western Australia’s first comprehensive city university campus. With its completion in late 2025 and opening in semester one 2026, ECU will move its world-class creative industries portfolio, including the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), into the Perth CBD.

This is an exceptional career opportunity for a high energy, experienced stakeholder engagement professional, who will lead ECU’s Alumni Relations team at a time of great opportunity and transformation. Providing oversight of events, programs and initiatives, this role will also play a key role in supporting the philanthropic goals of ECU. Key focuses of this role include expansion of mentoring programs, identifying meaningful opportunities for the University to connect with a global network of alumni, as well as support of our fundraising priorities; and liaison and reporting at an executive level.

  • Have high-level written communication skills;
  • Demonstrate experience in high-level membership engagement and the ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders;

  • Be a highly organised and detail-oriented management professional; and
  • Ideally have experience working in higher education or a similar complex environment.

All ECU staff demonstrate personal attributes that are aligned with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence and Courage.
