Expressions of interest are sought for the position of Interim Director: Australian Research Centre for Interactive and Virtual Environments (Director IVE). Commencing in July 2022, this interim appointment will assume leadership of Australian Research Centre for Interactive and Virtual Environments for a period of up to six months, during which time a full recruitment campaign for the position will be progressed.  

The Director is responsible for overseeing all the functions of the Centre, and is tasked with the following key responsibilities:

  • Lead IVE’s participation in the University’s Scale and Focus Scheme, as directed by the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor: Research and Enterprise
  • Promote and support a vibrant and active research environment and culture
  • Work with the IVE Leadership Team and Centre Board to develop strategies to grow the Centre


As the Interim Director IVE you will continue to drive world-leading research, through developing global research talent, and top-performing PhDs. In collaboration with industry partners, the IVE investigate and combine world expertise in Augmented and Virtual Reality with computer science, engineering, neuroscience, art, architecture, and design to solve real-world problems.
