  • Opportunity to utilise your experience providing advice and support to University leaders
  • HEO7 – salary starting from $100,032 plus 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

The HR Consultant (Advisory) provides HR advice, information, guidance, and support across a range of client groups as required. The role will report into the Senior HR Consultant however will work closely with HR Partners and COE’s to ensure the provision of efficient and effective HR support and advice.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provide advice and support on a broad range of human resources issues
  • develop client data packs and presentations as required to support the implementation of HR initiatives
  • assist the HR Partnering function in operationalising the strategic initiatives of Human Resources and assist in embedding the University’s Human Resources policies and practices including
  • assist managers to have meaningful, timely data for decision making
  • identify ways of improving HR capability, practices and processes and discuss with Senior HR Consultant for implementation
  • contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive relationship and communication within Human Resources
  • performs work activities relevant to the role’s key accountabilities as approved by the Senior HR Consultant and commensurate to the role’s classification level

About you

  • tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a mixture of applicable qualifications and relevant experience
  • experience in a HR Consultation or HR Generalist Advisory role in a large, complex and diverse organization
  • experience advising on HR principles and practices – from recruitment, on-boarding, performance management, remuneration & benefits, learning and development, industrial relations and diversity and in-depth experience in a few key fields
  • understanding of employment frameworks e.g. industry legislation, awards, enterprise agreements and HR practices with commercial/business acumen
  • understanding of the Australian employment relations regulatory environment

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
