  • 2 x 12 month fixed-term opportunities for relationship-focused HR Consultants to join the HR function at the University of Sydney
  • Support the delivery of positive organisational capability outcomes
  • Base Salary $100,032 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The HR function is in a period of significant development, striving to achieve an integrated service offering aligned with the university’s ambitious workforce planning and organisational design objectives. As a result, we are seeking a proactive and solutions-focused HR Consultant to provide operational advice and support to University leaders and managers spanning professional and academic client groups.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • play a significant and valued role in driving, supporting, and coordinating key people and culture initiatives
  • perform end to end project management of key HR initiatives
  • provide day-to-day employee lifecycle guidance (including performance management) to line management
  • develop client group metrics and presentations, as required, to support the implementation of HR initiatives
  • promote and encourage relevant employment programs aligned with the business and HR strategies
  • work collaboratively with functional specialists on solutions, presenting HR to the client as a united front
  • identify continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to implementing process efficiencies.

About you

  • significant relevant HR generalist experience in a similar role in a complex and highly client focused environment
  • thrives in a fast paced role, where process improvement and client experience is key
  • experience working within a COE model within a HR function is an advantage, with the ability to build relationships across the HR function to deliver solutions
  • proven abilities in developing and maintaining relationships with key and senior stakeholders
  • ability to drive projects and decisions through to completion
  • ability to deliver effective and efficient HR solutions across the employee life cycle
  • experience with the Workday HRIS would be an advantage
  • demonstrated experience of employment frameworks e.g. industry legislation, enterprise agreements and HR practices with commercial/business acumen
  • experience executing regular insightful business reporting including data exraction and analysis
  • flexibility in their organisation and planning skills in order to balance competing agendas and demands in a fast paced, time pressured environment
  • outstanding presentation, communication and influencing skills to deliver messaging on a variety of channels to varied audiences
  • an agile and flexible approach that is able to pivot and contribute to overall team success.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
