  • Opportunity to join the leadership team at the School of Life and Environmental Sciences (SOLES)

  • Base Salary $111,966 - $126,271 p.a. (HEO8) + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

Working in a large complex school, the Executive Officer provides high-level strategic advice and operational support to the School Manager and Head of School on the general management and delivery of core research, academic and education services to achieve the School mission and objectives.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provide strategic planning, policy advice and support

  • provide operational and administrative management

  • manage communications and relationships with key stakeholders

  • provide effective leadership and management guidance and support to staff

  • manage the efficient utilisation and deployment of resources

  • oversee governance and key compliance requirements, including WHS

  • manage ad-hoc projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

About you

  • demonstrated experience in the supervision, training, mentoring, and performance management of staff; and experience managing and resolving a diverse range of HR issues

  • working knowledge of various software programs such as PowerBi reporting dashboards, Concur, Records Online, Content Management Systems, Student Management Systems, Learning Management Systems, Timetabling

  • the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound  judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work

  • demonstrated ability to translate and implement strategic changes into local operational practices that enhance the work area’s administrative function

  • strong negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building, and influencing skills together with high level of tact, diplomacy and discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality

  • excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes.
