About the opportunity

A Professor of Practice is recognised as a distinguished leader in their field, known internationally for their significant contributions, achievements, and influence. They enrich the university with their vast professional expertise, enhancing the profession by working closely with colleagues, students, and the wider community. The Professors of Practice within the University of Sydney Business School will be responsible for shaping the university's strategic vision through active participation in governance and decision-making, promoting a culture of excellence among faculty and students. Professors of Practice continue to build their esteemed reputation by driving innovation, engaging in scholarly activities related to their field, contributing to academic discussions, and influencing policy development within and outside the university.
About you (skills, capabilities and experience)
The Professor of Practice will:
Lead impactful collaborations and relationships with industry, government, and community organisations, providing thought leadership, and leading strategic initiatives and partnerships.
Advance the profession by effectively combining theoretical knowledge and academic scholarship with sophisticated professional practice.
Make an outstanding contribution towards improvements in student learning, research or professional engagement outcomes.
Make an outstanding contribution to governance and collegial life within the university, including undertaking significant administrative or committee positions.
Contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled.
Undertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate within the classification level as required.
Term and remuneration
3 year, fixed-term (0.2 FTE 1 day per week) position. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and their relevant experience and qualifications.
