Position Summary
This position will co-supervise of team of specialized child welfare social workers – Regional Abuse and Medical Specialists (RAMS) – who provide guidance and oversight to all 100 counties in the management of high-risk child welfare cases that overlap with medical issues. 
This position will exercise professional expertise and discretion in leading staff serving this unique public service program – a partnership between the University and NC DHHS. They will assist in all aspects of operating the program to include assurance of a 24/7/365 on-call system for the RAMS Social Workers, monitoring of work hours for RAMS Social Workers, development and maintenance of tools for RAMS Social Workers to improve consultation function and ensure consistency as well as participate in the on-call duties of the team. As the other co-supervisor is a medical provider, this position will also require expertise in child welfare investigations. 
Additionally, this position will be involved in training activities as well as database management for the RAMS team. Training activities will include identifying and developing instructional activities and educational materials in the form of protocols, webinars and/or in-person trainings to be provided to county child welfare agencies by the RAMS team. The RAMS team has an active database. This position will be able to work on ensuring consistency in database completion by the team and reporting of data to counties and NC DHHS.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services discipline and three years of experience related to the area of assignment. Some positions may require certification to practice as a certified or licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* Extensive knowledge of NC child welfare policy, statutes and their application to management of high-risk child welfare cases that overlap with medical issues. 
* Minimum of 5 years of child welfare CPS Assessment experience and experience managing serious injury/physical abuse cases. 
* Experiencing supervising and/or providing consultation to child welfare staff.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and manage staff working remotely 
* Experience providing supervision during non-business hours
