The School is offering new Postgraduate mental health nursing courses and as such is recruiting for a Lecturer, Mental Health Nursing.

As a Lecturer, you will:

  • Demonstrate excellent scholarly learning and teaching at a higher education level (including for example in the cloud and in clinical settings)
  • Contribute effectively to the Faculty’s undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs including in the area of mental health nursing in a manner that influences, motivates, and inspires student to learn
  • Contribute to the moderation and maintenance of academic standards, and the development of course and unit curriculum that exemplifies Deakin’s curriculum framework and meets external requirements such as the Higher Education Standards Framework and professional accreditation
  • Contribute to research outcomes of the School
  • Design and implement best practice assessment of student learning outcomes and participating in assessment panels
  • Foster external partnerships key to the School’s activities

To be successful, you’ll:

  • Be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a registered nurse
  • Hold a postgraduate qualification in mental health and/or a PhD and relevant experience
  • Have experience of scholarly learning and teaching in undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs, including innovative curriculum design
  • Have an emerging reputation or nationally recognised research reputation in research and scholarship through publications and/or exhibitions and/or success in obtaining external research funding
  • Have the ability to contribute to communities through research
