JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The College of Engineering is seeking a full-time, non-tenure line, Assistant Research Professor for carrying out nanotechnology research and teaching activities in the Center for Nanotechnology Education and Utilization (CNEU) in the College of Engineering. The applicant must have a Doctorate degree in Engineering Science, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field. Research will specifically be expected to include nano-scale structures including nanoelctronic and photonic materials and devices, and nan-electromechanical systems (NEMS). The research undertaken will be used to further evolve and up-date nanotechnology laboratory experiences integral to Engineering Science undergraduate and graduate courses. A successful candidate must have extensive nanotechnology processing experience or a combination of processing experience and background that will enable her or him to develop a high degree of competency in nano-scale additive and subtractive processes, pattern transfer processes, and characterization. The candidate will participate in lecturing to undergraduate and graduate students, as requested. Such teaching duties may include in-person, remote and on-line courses, labs, and remote access sessions to nanotechnology tools using various technologies. The candidate will, also, be responsible for all CNEU reporting; liaison with industry; and development, advertising, and scheduling of outreach activities and nanotech workshops.
