ROLE of the POSITION

UNLV Undergraduate Admissions is excited to invite applicants to join their mission-critical "Orientation and Student Transition" team dedicated to planning, implementing and evaluating comprehensive programs and initiatives designed to facilitate new student engagement and transition to UNLV.

In this dynamic role, the Orientation and Student Transition Coordinator partners with the Associate Director for New Student Orientation and Transition Programs in cultivating continued engagement throughout the recruitment funnel, from the point of admission through the matriculation and transition of all new students - freshman and transfer - to the University. To achieve this, the Orientation and Student Transition Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising our enthusiastic student employee team consisting of Orientation Leaders, Orientation Assistants and interns.  Additionally, the Orientation and Student Transition Coordinator is responsible for the overall development and management of all on-line, and web-based student engagement platforms, such as the student-run blog, orientation email, incoming class Facebook group, orientation website, and other related digital platforms.

The Orientation and Student Transition Coordinator maintains a high level of internal and external public contact, serving as liaison between the Office of Admissions, various academic units, and other organizations within and outside of the University, and will be expected to travel both in and out of state and work irregular hours and some weekends.  This high-profile role also plays a primary role in coordinating and supporting all appropriate transition events and first year experience initiatives in partnership with the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education.

VACCINATION MANDATE POLICY

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and 3-5 years relevant experience as it relates to student engagement, recruitment, event planning and communication and customer service. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.    

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree preferred. Preferably direct experience with undergraduate student recruitment/orientation/transition for a regionally accredited public or private 4-year R-1 institution.   

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
